The Short Version

We don't collect any personal data. Period.

No accounts. No phone numbers. No emails. No location. No analytics. No tracking. No cookies. No fingerprinting. Nothing.

Information We Don't Collect

Most privacy policies list what companies collect. We'll list what we don't collect (which is everything):

  • Personal Information: No names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses
  • Account Data: There are no accounts. Nothing to collect.
  • Voice Data: Your voice travels peer-to-peer via WebRTC and never touches our servers
  • Location Data: We don't request or access your location
  • Contact Lists: We never access your contacts
  • Device Information: No device IDs, no fingerprinting
  • Usage Analytics: No tracking of how you use the app
  • Metadata: No logs of who talked to whom or when

How the App Works

Roger That is designed with privacy as the foundation, not an afterthought:

  1. Channel-Based Communication: Users connect via shared channel codes. These codes are random and not linked to any identity.
  2. Signaling Only: Our server only handles WebSocket signaling to help devices find each other. Think of it as a matchmaker that introduces you, then steps away.
  3. Peer-to-Peer Voice: Once connected, all voice data travels directly between devices via WebRTC. Your audio never passes through our servers.
  4. No Persistence: Voice data is transmitted in real-time and never stored anywhere. When the connection ends, it's gone forever.

Third-Party Services

We don't use any third-party services that collect user data:

  • No Google Analytics or similar tracking
  • No Facebook SDK or social integrations
  • No advertising networks
  • No crash reporting that includes personal data
  • No user behavior tracking tools

Data Requests from Authorities

If law enforcement or government agencies request user data, we have nothing to provide because:

  • We don't know who our users are
  • Voice never passes through our servers (it's peer-to-peer)
  • We don't keep connection logs
  • Signaling data is ephemeral and not stored

You can't hand over what you don't have.

Children's Privacy

Since we don't collect any personal information from anyone, we also don't collect personal information from children under 13 (or any applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app doesn't know or care about your age because it doesn't know anything about you.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy (unlikely, since "collect nothing" is pretty hard to change), we'll update the date at the top and make the new policy available in the app and on this website.

Open Source

Don't trust us? Good. The app is designed so you don't have to. Our encryption implementation can be audited, and we welcome security researchers to verify our claims.

Summary

We built Roger That because we were tired of apps that treat user data as a product. Your voice is yours. Your privacy is yours. We don't want it, we don't need it, and we've designed our entire system to make it technically impossible for us to collect it.
